When did you first pick up a tennis racquet? I think I was 9 years old, my Dads racquet

What made you pick up a racquet in the first place? I loved summer camp and  my best friend was going to summer camp

Who encouraged you? My parents and I had great coaches

Why did you decide on doubles? Did not have much of a choice based on my results, in my first year on the tour 2002 I won 5 out of my first 6 tournaments in doubles.

Will you ever play singles? Still trying to figure that out!

Biggest tennis goal? Number 1 in the world in doubles

Preps/Juniors  Graydon was the 1996 Southern Open singles and doubles champion. He won the doubles title at the '96 International Hardcourts. Was a Gold Medal winner athe the '94 Florida Teams Zonals. Three-time District Champion. Maryland Hard courts champion in '97 doubles. Two-time start champion ('95,'97). Played the U.S. open juniors tournament in '97.

At Alabama (1997-99)  Graydon played primarily at No.2 and 3 Singles. He finished his 97-98 season with a 19-16 record. Advanced to the semifinals of Notre Dame's Tom Fallon Invitational in '97. Started the 98-99 season with a five-match winning streak. Went 18-16 at No.1 doubles. Defeated six ranked doubles opponents. Ranked as hight as No.13 in doubles in the '98-99 season. Won the 1997 Rolex Region III Indoor championships. Won Harvard Invitational during the '98-99 season.

At Illinois (1999 -2000) Graydon won the NCAA Doubles Championship with partner Cary Franklin. Earned a wildcard into the U.S. Open in doubles as a result of his national championship. Earned All-American honors both years at Illinois. Finished the '99-2000 season ranked No.6 in the country in doubles and was ranked No.1 for the majority of the '00-2001 season, finishing the year at No.3. His junior year in singles put together an 18 match winning streak (the longest in school history).  Played No.1 and 2 doubles all year and went 34-9 overall, 11-1 in the Big Ten.  Played primarily No.3 Singles; had a perfect 10-0 mark in Big Ten singles play. Overall season record in singles was 24-2. In both his junior and senior years he was voted as Region IV's Arthur Ashe Junior Sportsmanship and Leadership Award winner, All -Big Ten Pick and Academic All-Big Ten team selection. Chosen as the teams Scholar-Athlete (3.66 cumulative GPA in Marketing). Earned the Big Ten medal of honor at the the University of Illinois his senior year. Voted to the Rolex All star team by tennis magazine. His senior year he won the ITA Region IV doubles title with Delic. Illinois' only pre-season ranked singles player No.72. Despite some early season nagging injuries, he put together a 4-3 mark. During his senior season Graydon reached a singles ranking of 13 and a doubles ranking of 1. He lost in the semi-finals of doubles in his senior year.

Graydon turned pro in 2002.
